Toyota promotes the all-new 2019 RAV4 in a new commercial, featuring a group of foodie friends who venture outside of their comfort zone in the brand’s new hybrid compact crossover.
The spot features the foursome looking for a place to eat and deciding to “spice things up a bit” by asking Alexa to recommend a restaurant where they could try a spicy dish. They all agree afterwards to “turn it up a notch” and go somewhere else, for a spicier meal to “enjoy”. Eventually, they choose to go to a third place, outside the city, where the dish is even spicier.
The song used in the ad is the 1974 hit single “Fire” by the R&B/funk band Ohio Players, from their album of the same name.
The 2019 RAV4 range includes LE (starting from $25,500), with hybrid model coming this spring, XLE (starting from $27,300), with hybrid coming this spring, as well, XLE Premium (starting from $29,500), Adventure (starting from $32,900) and Limited (starting from $33,500), with hybrid version also coming this spring.
The all-new RAV4 Hybrid compact crossover has also been showcased in the automaker’s first Super Bowl commercial for this year, which featured Antoinette “Toni” Harris. The defensive back end for the East Los Angeles College Huskies, who will be one of the few women ever to play college football, took the car for a ride and shared her story, revealing she’s “never been a big fan of assumptions”. Toyota’s second Super Bowl LIII ad featured the 2020 Toyota Supra navigating a giant pinball machine, while in the background The Who’s 1969 single “Pinball Wizard” is playing.
