Samsung presents, in a first official TV commercial, its highly-anticipated Galaxy Fold, brand’s first foldable smartphone.
“Ten years after the first Galaxy, we didn’t just change the shape of the phone, we changed the shape of tomorrow,” onscreen lines read throughout the 90-second spot that unveils the device, to which the brand gave people a first look back at Samsung’s Developer Conference in 2018. Serving as soundtrack is the 2014 single “Pure Imagination” by Taiwan-native singer Joanna Wang, from her “Midnight Cinema” album.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold comes in four different colours, has a 4.6-inch display on the front of the device, but when unfolded it’s a massive 7.3inch infinity flex display, six cameras – three on the back, two on the inside and one on the front so you can take a photo in whatever position your phone is in, and two batteries. Its price will start at €2,000.
The South Korean tech giant has also presented, at its dual Unpacked events in London and New York, which were also livestreamed directly on YouTube, its new Galaxy S10 smartphone range, showcasing the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10+ and the Galaxy S10e, as well as other products, including new Galaxy Earbuds and a new smartwatch, named the Galaxy Watch Active.
