Netflix has released the trailer for the first season of its upcoming sci-fi drama series The Order.
The show is set at Belgrave University and follows college freshman Jack Morton (Jake Manley) as he joins a fabled secret society where he’s thrust into a dangerous game of life or death. “As Jack goes deeper, he uncovers dark family secrets and an underground battle between werewolves and the magical dark arts,” the official synopsis reveals.
The cast also includes Sam Trammell, Sarah Grey, Max Martini, and Matt Frewer.
“Magic rolls all around us. It is in the air that we breathe. Do not be so naive as to think we are the only ones who could harness its power,” a woman, who seems to be a professor, warns at the beginning of the trailer. Manley’s character is then seen pledging a secret order called The Order and receiving a sort of “tutor” to learn how to use magic properly. Things take a deadly turn as a mysterious creature tears apart the order’s recruits.
The Order launches on the streaming service this spring, on March 7.
