Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming French sci-fi original series Osmosis.
The show, set in near-future Paris, where a new dating app promises users to find their soulmate by collecting data from their brain, follows a group of singles as they accept to test the experimental technology. They soon discover that love comes at a price and, moreover, that sometimes love hurts when they are thrust into exhilarating and terrifying experiences.
Produced by Audrey Fouché, the series marks the third French Netflix series, after “Marseille” (starring Gérard Depardieu and Benoît Magimel) and “Plan coeur” (starring Zita Hanrot).
The trailer, which raises the question “If science could guarantee true love, would you say Yes?,” features some of the singles that choose to try the “revolutionary way” to find their soulmates and take part in a study protocol, including a young woman who, after having seen an ad that said “Everyone has a soulmate,” thought “Even me?,” a young man who wants to experience love, and another young man addicted to intimate relationships, who thinks he could change with someone he loves.
Season 1 of Osmosis will be available on US Netflix from March 29, 2019.
