Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a first teaser trailer for Frozen 2, the animated sequel to the 2013 hit movie Frozen.
Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the film will feature the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The trailer doesn’t give away too much about the plot, leaving viewers guessing about the adventure Anna and Elsa will embark. The princesses’ trusty friends Olaf and Kristoff, who’s with his reindeer, Sven, are also featured as they are travelling with the girls across a fjord. The video opens with Elsa attempting to traverse the ocean, but getting hit by the waves she freezes, Anna is seen scaling a mountain, and the entire group together.
Co-director Chris Buck has said that the main plot because “she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she’s just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again,” but there will also be focus on the lives of Anna, Kristoff and Olaf.
The film, which will also see the additions of Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood to the voice talent, is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on November 22, 2019.
