Citroën Hitchhiker 100 Years Advert Song

Citroen Hitchhiker Advert

Citroën has launched a new brand advertising campaign, that introduces the CITROËN INSPIRED BY YOU slogan.

A short version of the campaign film, which is aimed to be an ode to mobility, has been released and takes viewers on a journey to different eras, in which various Citroën models tell the story of a hitch-hiker’s desire for freedom. Thus, the man becomes a passenger on board 2 CV and New C5 Aircross SUV. Sébastien Loeb, who won 9 World Rally Championship Titles with Citroën, makes a cameo appearance, too, driving Xsara WRC, a car he drove from 2001 through 2006.

The spot illustrates the brand’s history, that dates back to 1919, and showcases several Citroën models, from 2 CV to CX, from Traction Avant to Méhari, from Berlingo to New C4 Cactus Hatch.

“We have shared the same love for freedom for 100 years,” the voiceover says at the end of the 30-second ad, which also features Citroën Origins Collector’s Editions – C3, C3 Aircross SUV, and new C4 Cactus Hatch.

The soundtrack music is the 1979 hit single “Take the Long Way Home” performed by Roger Hodgson, co-founder of Supertramp, included on the band’s sixth studio album, “Breakfast in America”.
