Budweiser has released a new commercial to introduce the limited-edition Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager.
The 15-second spot features Charlize Theron pouring a Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager into a glass and saying that this is a “rich lager aged on Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves for a deliciously smooth finish. She then raises the glass and adds “There’s a new bud in town”.
The 60-second version, set to he rhythms of Run-D.M.C’s 1987 hit single “It’s Tricky,” stars the Oscar-winning actress as she beats several men in a bar, at a variety of games, from pool to darts and even arm wrestling, all while never spilling a drop of her beer, which she holds in one hand.
Created to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Prohibition and first launched in August 2018, the Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager, part of the brand’s Reserve collection, has a toasted oak aroma with hints of vanilla and caramel rye. Packaged in a vintage stubby bottle, the beer will be available for purchase through Spring 2019.
The full version of the ad will air for the first time during the Oscars broadcast on Sunday, February 24.
