H&M has tapped Chi Wong, a hairdresser from Glasgow, Scotland, and three male models to encourage people to get a fresh start of the new year and open up their wardrobe to new spring favourites.

The 40-second spot tells Chi’s story through his own voice, while on screen images of him giving a new look to his three customers – Victor Bill, Moein Agsharnejad, and Darryl Westley – are shown. “I left school at sixteen and started working at a salon and discovered very quickly that I loved it. Getting your hair cut off or changing your look, don’t be afraid. Because your hair always grows. A fresh cut and a fresh look can be very liberating,” Chi Wong says in voiceover.

Among the pieces showcased throughout the ad are the Oxford Shirt Regular Fit ($24.99), worn by Chi, a dark blue/striped textured-knit sweater in a soft cotton blend, featuring long sleeves and ribbing at neckline, cuffs, and hem, white 5-pocket pants in washed, slightly stretchy twill, featuring regular waist, zip fly, and skinny legs, a natural white textured-knit jumper, with long raglan sleeves and ribbing around the neckline, cuffs and hem, and more.
