Cheerios has released a series of new ads, highlighting that “Good Goes Round”.
The spot follows the journey of an oat starting from when the seed is planted by a farmer until it gets to the spoon, and includes amateur footage featuring people of all ages and backgrounds showing off their dance moves or being active in another way, such as dancing on roller skates, dancing with a hula hoop, and more.
Onscreen lines inform that Cheerios cereals may reduce the risk of heart disease as part of a heart healthy diet.
The song playing in the background, produced specially for Cheerios, is a happy jingle that says, among others, “Good goes round and round.” The track has become the brand’s anthem.
The products featured at the end of the ad are the Cheerios Honey Nut Gluten Free, Cheerios Original Gluten Free, and Cheerios Multi Grain Gluten Free.
In another recent spot, Cheerios advertises its Good Rewards Sweepstakes, which enable participants to help raise money for a charity and get the chance to win a prize, that may consist in a game, gift card, or other stuff.
Last year, the brand teamed up with Gronk, Lucy Hale and Michael B. Jordan to help raise money for their favorite charity and released a video featuring the trio talk about the Good Rewards initiative. The spot showed the Pretty Little Liars star, the Black Panther star and the New England Patriots tight end explaining briefly the Sweepstakes rules and encouraging viewers to join their team and do good with Honey Nut Cheerios. Participants at Sweepstakes must first find a BUZZCOIN specially-marked box of Honey Nut Cheerios and join their favorite team. Team Lucy Hale supports cat and dogs through The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Team Jordan supports hungry families through Feeding America and Team Rob Gronkowski youth sports through the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation. Once you have your BUZZCOIN ready, scan it and press the “Donate it to my team” button. This is the moment participants can also unlock a prize, that may consist in a game, gift card, or other stuff. There is also a grand prize worth $10.000 for you + $10.000 for your charity. The same BUZZCOIN can be scanned up to three times a day for more chances to win.
At the end of the promotion, on 4/15/19, Honey Nut Cheerios will donate $100,000 to the charity with the most Buzzcoin, $50,000 to the second place charity and $25,000 to the third place charity.
