Kia showcases the new Sportage in a commercial that aims to highlight the idea that “Feeling Young Never Gets Old”.
The 30-second spot features a couple that seem to be on their first date. He picks her up from work and takes her for a ride with his Kia Sportage GT-Line S through various places. They go somewhere for dinner, then go in an amusement park, where she wins a teddy bear that ends up carefully buckled up in the back seat on the way back home. In front of the door, one of them drops the keys and both of them bow to pick them up. At this point, the door opens and their kids show up, calling them “mom” and “dad,” revealing that the couple was not actually on their first date.
Serving as soundtrack is the 1987 hit single “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by American rock band Starship, from their second album, “No Protection”. The song, a duet featuring Starship vocalists Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas, also served as the theme to the 1987 romantic comedy film “Mannequin”.
