Walmart promotes, in a new commercial, its online grocery pickup service, which enables users to order groceries online and pick them up for free, even the same day.
The spot opens with a woman receiving a notification in the Walmart Grocery app, on her smartphone, that her order is ready, and handing to her husband the car keys so that he could go and pick it up. At his arrival, the entire family starts preparing the Thanksgiving meal. Whilst the kids are washing the vegetables, their mom is chopping them, puts the trays in the oven and takes out the roast turkey. FInally, they are all bringing to the table the trays with delicious food.
“Pass the goodness. Order groceries online. Pickup for free.” onscreen lines read at the end of the commercial, which also urges viewers to get the Walmart Grocery App, available for download on Google Play and App Store, today.
The soundtrack music is the 1966 hit single “Gimme Some Lovin’,”written by Steve Winwood, Spencer Davis and Muff Winwood, although solely credited to Winwood on the UK single label, and performed by the Spencer Davis Group.
With Walmart’s Grocery App, people can shop the retailer’s food selection online anytime, anywhere and then choose a convenient pickup time and location near them. Moreover, they can enjoy free same-day pickup when they order before 1pm and then they show up at their preffered location, an employee will load their car in minutes.
Walmart’s Store Pickup is valid only for items that have a “pick up” option. Items like perishable products or those containing hazardous materials, any product weighing in excess of 350 pounds, and products sold through a Walmart Marketplace Retailer may not be available for Once chosen the store they’d like to pickup from, customers will receive a confirmation email for their order, as well as a notification once their item is available for pick up. Items that have a “Free Pickup Today” are usually available four hours from the time of purchase. Any Same-Day Pickup order placed after 4:00pm may be available for pick up the next day. Upon arrival at the store’s Services/Pickup desk, customers must provide a valid photo I.D. in order to be able to pick up their package.
