M&S Christmas Must-Haves Advert Song – Feat. Holly Willoughby and David Gandy

M&S Christmas Must-Haves Advert - Holly Willoughby

M&S continues its Christmas ad campaign with a new installment, focused on a clothing and home collection.

After the unscripted ad for the retailer’s food range, which showed people from across the country telling what their favorite foods from M&S are, this one stars brand ambassadors Holly Willoughby and David Gandy and aims to highlights “the important role that M&S plays for families at Christmas.” While Holly is seen trying to plug in the Christmas lights, Gandy makes “a once in a lifetime cameo,” sporting marigolds to tackle the Christmas Day washing up mountain and impressing his in-laws, especially his mother-in-law.

Set to the rhythms of Tom Jones’ single “Give a Little Love”, the advert is also available as three different 20-second versions, each of them showcasing must-have products available to buy from the brand.

“What makes Christmas, Christmas?” the voiceover asks at the beginning of video, which also sees Holly on the floor, under the Christmas tree, trying to plug in the lights for the Christmas tree. The voiceover continues then to list some of the must-haves, such as lights, music, party, after party, sleep, “in-laws to impress,” “fancy little knickers,” “seriously comfy pants,” “Bridget” (referring to Bridget Jones movies), “seething gift envy”. “Or maybe all you all is a little bit of magic and a whole lot of sparkle,” the voiceover says at the end of the advert, which sees the tagline “For the Must-Haves that Make Christmas” flashing across the screen.
