Hulu Commercial - Actress Sarah Silverman

Hulu continues its “Better Ruins Everything” campaign with a new spot featuring Sarah Silverman.

The actress stars in a 15-second spot sitting on a toilet in a public restroom stall and, while unfolding the toilet paper, urging viewers to “never upgrade to 3-Ply,” because it “will ruin regular toilet paper forever.” She also advises people to never get Hulu, which – thanks to its offering, including live TV and exclusive originals, “is basically the 3-Ply of TV”.

“We’re about to ruin TV for you,” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which also sees Silverman asking a woman who knocked on her stall to come in. The song playing in the background at the end is the 2018 single “Look at That Butt” by Dillon Francis featuring Jarina De Marco.

This tagline was introduced earlier this year, with a star-studded commercial launched by the streaming service to showcase its offering, which includes original content, a wide selection of TV shows and movies, as well as a combination of live TV and sports. Comedian Sarah Silverman, whose travelogue series “I Love You, America” returned to the streaming service with its second season last month, on October 12, was among the celebrities that advised viewers to “never get Hulu,” such as The Handmaid’s Tale actress Samira Wiley, Joe Manganiello and his real-life wife Sofia Vergara, Houston Rockets point guard James Harden, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff, actor Ramy Youssef, and 13-year-old actor, dancer, rapper Miles Brown.
