Dodge advertises its Black Friday sales event in a new commercial, featuring a muscular Santa Claus who thinks his ride is due for an upgrade.
The spot follows Santa, played by professional wrestler Bill Goldberg, who has his team working to upgrade his sleigh, after he draws the engine he wants, namely the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 from the Hellcat Redeye. When he’s about to hit the road, at the steering wheel of his new “sleigh,” Mrs. Claus, played by Christy Lee, the host of “All Girls Garage,” shows up, asking him to move and taking his place.
The vehicles shown throughout the ad are the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, “the world’s fastest muscle car,” the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, “the world’s fastest sedan,” the Dodge Durange, “America’s fastest, most capable 3-row SUV in its class”.
“There’s more than one way to fly,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, informing that there are great deals all month long at the Dodge Black Friday Event. An onscreen line urges viewers to get additional Black Friday bonus cash of $500 on most 2018 Dodge Durango models.
The song playing in the background is “Santa Claus is Back in Town” from the album “We Wish You a Metal Xmas and a Headbanging New Year”.
The automaker will also sell, as part of its new holiday ad campaign, a Hellcat Redeye logo t-shirt where the logo has reindeer antlers and eventually the same sweater that Goldberg wore in the commercial.
