Since 1985, hundreds of artists have created posters with Absolut Vodka. The brand asks you, it the commercial announcing the Absolut Creative Competition, how many you can find.
The video, done by creative agency BBH and directed by Oscar Hudson, takes viewers back in time, on a journey through the 1980’s, 1985’s, 1990’s, 1995’s, and 2000’s, and features actors that portray artists like Keith Haring, Arman Armand, Romero Britto and Maurizio Cattelan, the creators of some of the over 800 art pieces promoting the Absolut Vodka, as they walk through a cityscape that includes artistic posters created by noted artists. “Are you next?” an onscreen line reads at the end of the film, which also features different songs from the respective times.
The brand is now on a global mission to uncover the next Haring, Britto or Thomas and gives artists and designers a chance to launch (or accelerate) their career, feature in a global showcase viewed by the world’s top artists, and win €20,000.
The global Absolut Creative Competition will reach 20 countries across the world and encourage candidates to create a piece of art that expresses what one of Absolut’s brand beliefs mean to them, incorporating in a creative way the iconic shape of Absolut Vodka. Artworks can be submitted through the brand’s dedicated webpage, through January 31, 2019.
