Sainsbury’s Halloween Singing Pumpkin Advert Song

Sainsbury’s has released its Halloween 2018 ad, encouraging viewers to “find surprisingly strange things at Sainsbury’s this Halloween”.

The 30-second spot features a carved pumpkin singing the chorus and the verse 2 of the song “Round The Twist”, which was written by Andrew Duffield and sung by Tamsin West, while around it skeletons, witches, ghosts, bats, spiders, scary masks, make appearances. “Have you ever, ever felt like this? Have strange things happened? Are you going round the twist? Have you ever, ever felt like this? Have strange things happened? Are you going round the twist? Well, have you heard the word about the bird and the spider? It wiggled and wriggled and jiggled inside her,” the animated jack-o’-lantern sings.

“Find surprisingly strange things” an onscreen line reads at the end of the advert, before the supermarket chain’s tagline, “live well for less,” appears on screen.

Sainsbury’s range of Halloween-related products includes a variety of costumes for kids, women and men, from scary vamp to creepy zombie, accessories like eyeball glasses, spider rings, foam masks, and more, make-up, home and garden decorations, as well as tableware and lighting, party food, crisps and snacks, as well as drinks, cooking and carving pumpkins, pumpkin carving kits, light up pumpkins, and a variety of trick-or-treat-related items, from chocolates and sweets to bakery, bags and buckets.
