“Sirens go wild” in the upcoming season of Freeform’s supernatural drama series Siren.
The trailer released by the Disney-owned cable network at New York Comic Con on Thursday reveals there will be more “mer-people” in season 2. Ryn (Eline Powell), the mermaid who shows up as a mysterious young woman in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, in search of her sister, captured by the local military, is joined by other mermaids and some of them are not friendly at all, judging by the scenes featured in the promo.
Alex Roe and Fola Evans-Akingbola reprise their roles as marine biologists Ben Pownall and Maddie Bishop, who are working together to find out the truth behind Ryn’s appearance in the small fishing town, Ian Verdun reprises his role as troubled fisherman Xander McClure, and Rena Owen returns as town historian Helen Hawkins.
The song used in the trailer, which is filled with mystery and blood, is “Blood//Water” by Canadian-American alternative artist Jordan Edward Benjamin, known professionally as Grandson, included on his 2018 EP “modern tragedy vol.1”.
Season 2 of Siren is set to premiere on January 24, 2019.
