Burberry has released the campaign film for its new fragrance for women Her, starring Cara Delevingne.
Shot in London (Cara’s hometown) by Juergen Teller, the spot includes shots of the English model-actress in various places from the city, eating ice cream and letting dogs slurpily lick her face. In the background, she’s heard singing Flanagan & Allen’s “Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner”.
The new scent, which “captures the bold attitude and adventurous spirit of a Londoner,” is also showcased at the end of the advert.
Developed by perfumer Francis Kurkdijian, Her features top notes of blueberry, raspberry, black currant, white woody accord, and comes in a bottle inspired by an archival Burberry fragrance design. It is available as 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml Eau de Parfum, as 100ml deodorant and 200ml body lotion. Prices range from £29 for the deodorant, to £38 for the body lotion, to £49 for the 30ml-sized bottle, £68 for the 50ml-sized bottle and £96 for the 100ml-sized bottle.
This is not the first time Cara Delevingne stars in an advertising campaign for the British brand. In November 2017, she starred alongside Matt Smith in a blockbuster campaign, showcasing seasonal pieces for Winter. Captured by Alasdair McLellan, the two have been featured larking about in laminated trench coats to the soundtrack of Pet Shop Boys’ “Always On My Mind”.
Written by London songwriter Hubert Gregg, “Maybe It’s Because I’m A Londoner” was chosen by the actor Jack Warner and the producers of the TV series Dixon Of Dock Green for its theme music, although it was later replaced by “An Ordinary Copper”.
