Beats by Dre advertises its Powerbeats3 Wireless earphones in a new commercial, starring LeBron James.
Titled “The Game Will Never Sound The Same,” the spot features the NBA star getting ready in the locker room to go out on the field to STAPLES Center and make his debut in purple and gold (the colors of his new team, Los Angeles Lakers), wearing the Powerbeats3 Wireless. Footage of various people in L.A., including NBA fans waiting to see a game on a smartphone, in a fast-food restaurant, is also included, while in the background “California Love” by 2Pac feat. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman is playing.
A huge billboard on a flat, featuring James wearing the Lakers’ shirt and Beats headphones, as well as the text “The Game Will Never Sound The Same,” is also seen.
The Powerbeats3 Wireless earphones, featuring flexible, secure-fit earhooks to maximize comfort and stability and sweat and water resistance to handle tough training, allow users to connect via Class 1 Bluetooth with their device for wireless workout freedom, take calls, control their music and activate Siri with RemoteTalk. They boast up to 12 hours of battery life to power through multiple workouts and, with Fast Fuel, a 5-minute charge gives one hour of playback when the battery is low. The retailing price is $199.95 on the brand’s website.
This is not the first time James stars in a Beats commercial. The leading audio brand celebrated its status of headphone, home speaker and audio partner of the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League and USA Basketball in a commercial featuring a host of NBA stars, including LeBron James, Draymond Green, James Harden, Ben Simmons, Karl Anthony-Towns, and more.
