BBC advertises, in a new trailer titled “Welcome to the Revolution,” its main shows having women in the leading roles.
The 60-second promo includes footage from series like Killing Eve, which stars Sandra Oh as a detective named Eve, who finds herself on a collision course with a violent and extraordinary assasin, named Villanelle, Black Earth Rising, starring Michaela Coel and John Goodman, a drama series about a lawyer who was rescued, as a child, from the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide and is shocked when her adoptive mother prosecutes a controversial militia leader, Wanderlust, starring Toni Collette and Steven Mackintosh as a long-married couple who find an unorthodox solution to save their marriage, and more, such as The Cry, Doctor Who, Mrs Wilson, The Long Song, Press, Bodyguard, and The Little Drummer Girl.
“Welcome to the Revolution,” the voiceover says at the end of the trailer, which is set to the tune of the 2017 song “Don’t Kill My Vibe”, which is the debut single by Norwegian singer and songwriter Sigrid (born Sigrid Solbakk Raabe).
