Pampers showcases the new Pampers Pure Collection, consisting of diapers and wipes with 0% chlorine bleaching, fragrance and parabens, and enhanced with premium cotton, in a new commercial, announcing “A New Dawn For Babies Everywhere”.
Set to a cover of the iconic song “Feeling Good,” the 30-second ad features several babies while the voiceover is introducing the brand’s Pure diapers and wipes, “made with 0% chlorine bleaching, fragrance and parabens.” “And because it’s Pampers, you get 100% Pampers Protection for the dryness you trust,” the voiceover also says, adding the new tagline “Pampers Pure – Pure protection that works”.
According to the brand, Pure diapers and wipes are crafted with “premium cotton, soft plant-based and other thoughtfully selected materials” and are “clinically proven better than Honest Diapers for baby’s delicate skin.” The diapers include absorbent core, absorbent topsheet, soft outer cover, seams and joints, the reassuring Wetness Indicator and backseet printed in a variety of all-new designs, and deliver up to 12 hours of trusted leak protection.
Written by English composers Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical “The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd,” “Feeling Good” was first performed on stage in 1964 by Cy Grant on the UK tour and by Gilbert Price in 1965 with the original Broadway cast. Nina Simone’s version, recorded for her 1965 album, “I Put a Spell on You,” became popular only in 1994, after being used in a British TV ad for Volkswagen. The vocal track by Simone and the music of “Feeling Good” have been sampled in numerous songs, including “The Twister” by Viper, “How I Feel” by Wax Tailor, “Next Day” by Jay-Z and Kanye West, “How I Feel” by Flo Rida and others.
The song has also been covered by the rock band Muse, Michael Bublé, Traffic, George Michael, John Coltrane, Victory, Joe Bonamassa, EDEN and Eels, among others.
