Audi showcases its Q8, the latest entry in the SUV-coupe niche, in a new ad, that features the car’s “Big Entrance”.
The spot, created by BBH London and filmed at the Odessa Port in Ukraine, shows the SUV rolling out of a container and the Odessa Philarmonic Orchestra playing Verdi’s Dies Irae. Stunned by the vehicle’s appearance, the players stop for a moment to watch it as it makes the grand entrance.
The TV ad’s premiere was accompanied by a live 16-piece orchestra and 40-strong choir at the BFI Southbank in London, which was streamed via Periscope and Twitter.
Audi Q8’s was described, by alphr.com, as “a sporty, tech-filled premium SUV that’s more than just the business”.
First unveiled in June, the automaker’s flagship car in its SUV range features a generous interior space, a centre dashboard consisting of a 10-in. touchscreen display for infotainment functions and an 8.1-in. display for climate controls and more, wireless charging. In terms of driver assistant technology, the Q8 features pedestrian parking sensors and cameras for reversing and manoeuvring, adaptive cruise control, slow speed traffic assist and proximity alerts.
