Australian airline Qantas encourages you to stand up for diversity and inclusion in a new commercial, featuring brand ambassador Hugh Jackman and a host of sports teams, Olympians and Paralympians and leaders in art.

Created by Brand + Story agency and directed by Josh Whiteman, the 60-second spot features the award-winning actor on Maroubra Beach talking about the spirit of Australia and urging people to stand up for a fair go. “The spirit of Australia – it connects us no matter where we were born, how we look or how we live. Our spirit is about standing up.” Jackman says.Various groups of Australians are also featured. Among them are Australia’s champion mixed Wheelchair Rugby team taking on the Olympic Gold Medal winning Australian Women’s 7’s Rugby team, Defence Force veteran and Paralympian Curtis McGrath, Olympic swimmer Bronte Campbell swimming with Paralympian Ellie Gould, former AFL player Adam Goodes, who’s also a Qantas Ambassador, at a NAIDOC week celebration at Qantas head office, members of the Australian men and women’s cricket teams playing a game of cricket on the beach, athletes from several Football Federation of Australia, Rugby Australia, Qantasa staff celebrating an LGBTI event, and singer Bernard Fanning, whose rendition of “Caravan of Love” serves as soundtrack.

The ad is set to air during the Bledisloe Cup match between Australia and New Zealand on August 18 on Fox Sports. It will also roll out across social media channels and on board Qantas flights.

Qantas has shown its support for equality and inclusion over the years by encouraging more women to train for traditionally male dominated aviation roles, by asking staff to stop using “gender-inappropriate” language in the workplace, supporting the legalization of same-sex marriage, and more.
