BBC One Series: Press (Trailer)

Press (Trailer BBC One)

BBC has released the trailer for the upcoming drama series Press, set to air on BBC One.

The new six-part show, created by Doctor Foster’s Mike Bartlett, explores the lives of the journalists and editors behind the daily news at two newspapers – The Post and The Herald. The cast ensemble includes Charlotte Riley as the Deputy News Editor of fictional broadsheet The Herald, Ben Chaplin as the Deputy News Editor of fictional broadsheet The Herald, David Suchet as the Chairman & CEO of Worldwide News, owner of The Post, Priyanga Burford, Paapa Essiedu, Shane Zaza, Ellie Kendrick, Al Weaver and Brendan Cowell.

The short trailer gives viewers a glimpse of the different mandates at each outlet. The Post’s purpose, Chaplin says, is “the most outrageous storytelling in the world”. Riley’s character, on the other hand, says “Our job is the truth”.

The series is scheduled to premiere in the UK in September and on Masterpiece next year.
