DJ Khaled stars in a new Apple commercial, together with his toddler son, Asahd, who proves to know his worth.
The 60-second spot, directed by Anthony Mandler, features the rapper finding the kid in a high chair, with an iPhone, asking his lawyer to negociate for more money. The little one is also making fun of his dad’s catchphrases, much to the surprise of the latter.
“Don’t play no games, this is family,” Khaled tells Asahd at some point, to which the boy replies: “No man, this is business”.
The little one’s voice was given by Kevin Hart, following DJ Khaled’s initiative. He said he was the one who wanted to get Kevin Hart to be Asahd’s voice, from the moment the idea for the commercial was brought to him.
The ad, which teases the rapper’s new song, “No Brainer,” feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper, while advertising Apple Music, Siri, HomePod and iPhone X, is the first instalment in a three-part series featuring DJ Khaled and Asahd. The other two spots, whose script is created by Larry Jackson, are ready, according to DJ Khaled. However, their release dates have yet to be determined.
