Walmart shows, in its latest commercial, how a community welcomes students back to school in a big way.
The 30-second spot opens with several dads of different backgrounds as they all use the Walmart mobile app to order online backpacks and other items their kids need to get back to school. After the working hours, the very same day, they pick the products at the store, thanks to the “Free same day pickup” option, available at Walmart. The ad then goes on by featuring a group of kids being welcomed at the East Middle School by parents and teachers as if they were stars.
“Go Back Big!” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which is scored by the 2004 hit single “Let’s Get It Started” by the American group The Black Eyed Peas, from their third studio album, “Elephunk”, released in 2003.
Walmart’s Store Pickup is valid only for items that have a “pick up” option. Items like perishable products or those containing hazardous materials, any product weighing in excess of 350 pounds, and products sold through a Walmart Marketplace Retailer may not be available for Once chosen the store they’d like to pickup from, customers will receive a confirmation email for their order, as well as a notification once their item is available for pick up. Items that have a “Free Pickup Today” are usually available four hours from the time of purchase. Any Same-Day Pickup order placed after 4:00pm may be available for pick up the next day. Upon arrival at the store’s Services/Pickup desk, customers must provide a valid photo I.D. in order to be able to pick up their package.
