Frieze is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Second Summer of Love in partnership with Gucci with a short film directed by Adam Csoka Keller, titled “The Second Summer of Love: London,” that explores a night out from the perspective of looking for the ultimate rave party.
The 60-second video is a prelude to “Everybody in The Place,” a rave documentary on Acid House in London by Jeremy Deller, from the four-part series “Second Summer of Love.” The soundtrack music is the number one Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart single “This Is Acid (A New Dance Craze)” by Chicago house music DJ and record producer Maurice Joshua, from the 2003 album “Excess Luggage”.
Commissioned by Gucci and Frieze, The Second Summer of Love series is aimed at exploring how this radical youth movement can be seen in almost every facet of contemporary culture.
Everybody in The Place is set to be screened exclusively at the Gucci Wooster cinema space in New York from July 6 to July 20. The full “Second Summer of Love” series will be screened together for the first time at Frieze London in October, followed by a discussion with the artists.
