The Romanoffs (Prime Trailer)

Prime Video has released an official teaser for its upcoming original series The Romanoffs.

From the creator of Mad Men, Matthew Weiner, the show is, according to the official synopsis, “a contemporary anthology series set around the globe featuring eight separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian royal family” (that ruled Russia from 1613 until the Bolsheviks seized power in 1917). The cast ensemble includes Aaron Eckhart, Isabelle Huppert, Diane Lane, Christina Hendricks, Amanda Peet, John Slattery, Kathryn Hahn, Jack Huston, Noah Wyle, Andrew Rannells, Paul Reiser, and more.

The teaser, set to the rhythms of “Romeo & Juliet: Act I, Scene XIII, Dance of the Knights” by Valery Gergiev & London Symphony Orchestra, features the names of the actors starring in the show, without revealing any footage though.

The series, created, written, directed and executive produced by Weiner, is scheduled to premiere on October 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
