Overlord (2018 Movie)

Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming World War II zombie film Overlord, from producer J.J. Abrams.

Written by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith and directed by Julius Avery, the movie revolves around a group of paratroopers who, according to the synopsis, drop behind enemy lines, on the eve of D-Day, to carry out a crucial mission for the invasion. “As they approach their target, they soon begin to realize there’s more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation”.

The cast ensemble includes Jacob Anderson, Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, Pilou Asbæk, John Magaro, Iain De Caestecker, and Bokeem Woodbine.

The trailer opens with a group of soldiers dropped into a Nazi-occupied village in France, who discover something much more sinister lurking there: human experiments who contort their bodies and crave human flesh. The film takes a horror turn as the paratroopers struggle to escape the zombies and a woman takes out a flamethrower.

The song used in the trailer is the 1980 single “Hell Bells” by the Australian hard rock band AC/DC, from their first album without Bon Scott, “Back in Black”. The track also appears on Who Made Who, AC/DC’s 1986 soundtrack to Stephen King’s 1986 movie “Maximum Overdrive” and on both versions of 1992’s AC/DC Live.

Overlord opens in theaters this fall, on November 9, 2018.
