Walmart promotes, in a new commercial, its online grocery pickup service, which enables users to order groceries online and pick them up for free, even the same day.
The 30-second spot, titled “Good Man”, opens with a man at the office using the Walmart Grocery App to shop for groceries. After adding some cherry tomatoes to the cart, he texts his wife “it’s date night”, which makes her smile. As he leaves the office, a notification informs him that his order is ready for pickup, so he heads to a Walmart store, where he has the groceries loaded in his trunk by an employee. He arrives home and makes dinner, which it turns out was for a daddy/daughter date night, not for him and his wife. The latter cannot help but smile returning home and finding the two at the table, giggling.
The spot, soundtracked by Ne-Yo’s 2018 single “Good Man” (from his upcoming seventh studio album, “Good Man”, set to be released in late August), encourages viewers to order groceries online, highlighting that free pickup is now rolling out nationwide.
With Walmart’s Grocery App, people can shop the retailer’s food selection online anytime, anywhere and then choose a convenient pickup time and location near them. Moreover, they can enjoy free same-day pickup when they order before 1pm and then they show up at their preffered location, an employee will load their car in minutes.
Now, the retailer also gives its customers the chance to get $10 off their first order of $50 or more, when they place their first order for Walmart Grocery online service, at participating stores.
