Apple CarPlay for Android and iPhone is definitely an important feature and automakers don’t hesitate to highlight the variety of cases it could also be very helpful. Dodge is one of them. The company showcases its 2018 Durango in a new commercial, urging people to get the full Apple experience in their vehicle.
The 60-second ad follows a young man on his quest to deliver several things to someone, while listening, in his 2018 Dodge Durango, using Apple CarPlay for Iphone, Alice Cooper group’s 1971 single “Under My Wheels”. He asks Siri to find the nearest beauty supplies store, where he buys lots of black nail polish, the nearest grocery store, where he buys licorice, the nearest florist, where he buys a huge bunch of black roses, the nearest party store, where he buys black balloons, and the nearest pet store, where he buys an animal in a cage covered in a black cloth and a black goat. He loads all these things in the car and heads to a place where, apparently, Alice Cooper is about to hold a concert. The “Surprise Ending” promised in the ad title features Alice Cooper himself, who, seeing the items brought by the guy, says “Nice!”. He then asks ‘Where is the boa?’, which makes the rider, now holding 15 pizza boxes, passing the pizza boxes over to Cooper and go to the car to bring in the boa.
The ad also highlights that Apple CarPlay for iPhone gives you access to 45 million songs, ad free, to integrated maps, and more, and that you can get up to 6 months of Apple Music on Dodge.
Apple CarPlay allows you to connect your iPhone to the computer system of your car and use the navigation, Siri voice control, music features of the iPhone, as well as calling, to the whole vehicle.
There are also other car manufacturers that offer Apple CarPlay on their latest vehicles. Among them are Chrysler, which offers the service for its 2017-2018 Chrysler 300 and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep, which offers the service for its all-new Jeep Compass, Audi, Cadillac, BMW, Honda, Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Mini, Lincoln, and others.
