Smart Energy GB Free Smart Meter Advert – Meera’s Favorite Song

Smart Energy GB TV Advert - Meera

People in Great Britain are advised to contact their energy supplier about getting their free smart meter in a new funny ad, featuring Meera, a baby girl who cannot sleep without her favorite song.

The 20-second spot features Meera’s mom and dad, who, after months of sleepless nights, “got a smart meter, so every year they could save enough energy… to keep Meera’s favorite song playing on repeat. Until she’s 36.” The little girl’s favorite song is, apparently, “I Like to Move It”, the 1993 single by American electronic dance duo Reel 2 Real (Erick Morillo), featuring ragga vocals by Trinidad and Tobago rapper The Mad Stuntman, and included on the “Move It!” album.

Smart meters are the new generation of gas and electricity meters being rolled out across Great Britain, which show how much energy you are using in pounds and pence. Every household in Britain can get a smart meter as part of the national rollout, even if you rent or are on prepay. Your energy supplier is responsible for installing your smart meter at no extra cost. If you’re the account holder who pays the energy bills, you are automatically entitled to one.

Smart Energy GB is a national campaign aimed at helping everyone in Great Britain understand smart meters, the national rollout and how to use their new meters to get gas and electricity under control.
