Progressive Insurance Commercial Song – Heaven Is a Place on Earth

Progressive Insurance Commercial - Jamie & Colleagues Singing A Capella

Actor Jim Cashman returns as Jamie in a new commercial for Progressive, promoting the Name Your Price tool.

The 30-second ad sees him “conducting” a group of five colleagues as they perform Belinda Carlisle’s hit song “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” (included on her second studio album, “Heaven on Earth,” released in 1987). “I don’t believe it,” “I want to believe it,” he tells his colleagues, who are trying several times to make him satisfied. Arguing that he doesn’t hear the confidence, he asks one of the girls to hold the Name Your Price tool – which gives options based on your budget – and sing again. This last time is apparently not only good enough, but great, almost bringing tears into Jamie’s eyes.

The Name Your Price tool, launched in 2009, helps drivers customize their car insurance by coverage and price. The feature has been often promoted by the insurance company in advertising campaigns ever since. Specialists, however, warned against using price as the deciding factor when shopping for coverage.

Known for The Boss (2016), Saturday Night Live (1975) and Benched (2014), Cashman started appearing in Progressive ads in 2017, alongside Flo (actress Stephanie Courtney), who’s been a company’s spokeswoman since 2008. In one of the spots, dubbed “Jamie’s Twin”, he even had a doppelganger, played by British actor Jack Turner.
