Land Rover celebrates its 70th anniversary with a new commercial, inspiring people to take back the adventurous spirit which once existed in all of us.
Titled “70 Years Young”, the ad features dozens of children from across the globe delivering an empowering message aimed at being food for thought for adults everywhere. “When we’re young, we’re all adventurous. We want to climb things, explore things, smell things, ask questions, try stuff. I guess we’re just curious. We’re born that way. You must remember you were once like us. So what happened? All you do is do stuff like work and groceries and talk about the economy, whatever that is,” the kids say, urging then adults to “Stop being that boring” and let their curious side to surface, allowing their adventurous spirit to take them outside, because “it’s exciting!”.
The soundtrack music is Act 1: “Largo al factotum” from The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini.
Last month, Land Rover announced 70th anniversary celebrations with a spectacular 250m wide Defender Outline drawn in the snow at 2,700m in the French Alps by snow artist Simon Beck, who walked out 20,894 steps in sub-zero temperatures. On 30 April, the exact date that marked seven decades since Land Rover made its debut at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show, was World Land Rover Day. The event, broadcast online, on the brand’s YouTube Channel, paid tribute to the original Land Rover, as well as the luxurious Range Rover and versatile Discovery families.
