How do you know summer’s arrived? Corona gives you the answer in its latest commercial, showcasing the limited edition Corona Summer Beach cans.
The 30-second spot features a young man on a beach taking out a Corona Extra Summer can from a small tub filled with ice and shouting “Summer is here!”, which makes people jump out of joy and start celebrate summer with Corona Extra at outdoors bars, at barbecue parties, at home, in the backyard, and at the beach, from dawn to dusk, and even late in the night, by the fire.
“The surest sign the summer has arrived – the Summer can from Corona,” the voiceover says at the end of the commercial, urging you to “Get it while you can” before the tagline “Find Your Beach” flashes across the screen.
The soundtrack music is the famous late rocksteady song “You Can Get It If You Really Want”, written and performed by the Jamaican reggae singer songwriter Jimmy Cliff, included on his 2004 compilation album “Reggae Night”. The song is featured on the soundtrack album “The Harder They Come” to the iconic 1972 film of the same name.
The limited-edition “Summer Beach” cans for Corona Extra were released in the US beginning early early May 2017.
The launch was also marked by the “Corona Summer Vibes” campaign, which included a TV spot, a Corona Summer Vibes Playlist on Spotify, sponsorship of New Music Friday and sweepstakes to win music experiences and Spotify subscriptions.
Corona made its debut to the U.S. market in 1981 and became #1 import beer for the last 20 years. Ranked as the #1 “perfect beer for summer” by males aged 21-34, Corona had, in 2016, a record-breaking sales year.
