Three UK highlights, in its latest ad, that you can use Snapchat without using up your data.
“On Snapchat, you are a social butterfly. Until you run out of data. But on Three, you can use Snapchat all you like without using up your data,” the voiceover says on the 30-second spot, which features the Puggerfly, a pug with butterfly wings, that runs through a forest, tries to catch a the Snapchat rainbow, and flies up in the sky, among Snapchat clouds. “Snap yourself silly only on Three!” the voiceover says at the end of the advert. Viewers are also invited to scan the Snapcode to free their Puggerfly.
Serving as soundtrack is the 1982 hit single “Africa” by American rock band Toto, from their fourth studio album, “Toto IV”. The song reached #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on February 5, 1983 and number three on the UK Singles Chart the same month.
Three also informs that, “when you’re not Snapping, you can use all of its other Go Binge partners without using up your data too,” and that you can “stream endlessly on Netflix and TV Player, and listen to infinite music on Apple Music, Deezer and Soundcloud”.
This is not the first time the pug stars in an advert for the British mobile service. In 2013, he was the face of the Pug321 campaign, which promoted the Pay as you go 321 pricing plans, highlighting that “pay as you go just got serious” with some great top up rates being offered.
In September 2017, Snapchat added new sky filters designed to change daily on rotation to allow all sorts of different skylines, to celebrate its sixth birthday. Last year, the popular app launched more than 25 new features, including new ways to edit pictures, with magic tint and backdrops, SnapMap, and Snapchat glasses.
