Strongbow Apple Ciders celebrates its status of “Refreshing by Nature” in a new commercial, aimed at inspiring people to keep their connections real and take a new outlook on their urban lives.
The 30-second ad, titled “It’s Cider Time”, features the journey of apples from the moment they are harvested in an orchard until the moment they become Strongbow Cider, on one side, and a group of friends meeting up after work to grab a drink on a rooftop bar, on the other side, the outcome being a dual perspective, that shows how Strongbow refreshes and connects people.
The soundtrack music is “Stranger to My Happiness” by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, from their 2014 album, “Give the People What They Want”. Soul-funk boss Sharon Jones makes a triumphant return to the limelight in the video for the song, after she had followed chemotherapy for her bile-duct cancer.
The campaign launched by the world’s leading cider producer, which also introduces a new tagline, “Refreshing by Nature”, “encourages consumers to connect more naturally with others and make the most of their city life,” according to Sharon Walsh, Global Director of Ciders at HEINEKEN, who described Strongbow Apple Ciders as “an uplifting alcoholic drink, which is typically the first drink of the evening, allowing consumers to wind down and wind up to fully enjoy good times with their friends”.
The campaign, complemented by digital, cinema, outdoors and trade activations, will be rolled out in over 20 markets throughout this year.
Strongbow hard ciders come in a variety of flavors, including Gold Apple, Rosé Apple, Artisanal Blend, Cherry Blossom, and Orange Blossom.
