“He was reborn once, and now he’s back again.” this is the message conveyed in the teaser released by Universal Pictures for the third installment of the Johnny English comedy series, Johnny English Strikes Again.
Directed by David Kerr from a script by William Davies, the film, which is a sequel to the 2011 Johnny English Reborn, follows the accidental secret agent, played by Rowan Atkinson, becoming the secret service’s last hope when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain. According to the official synopsis, Johnny English, who is called out of retirement, embarks on a quest to find the mastermind hacker, but his mission is not easy at all since he, “a man with few skills and analogue methods”, must overcome the challenges of modern technology. The cast also includes Ben Miller, Emma Thompson, Olga Kurylenko, Jake Lacy, Miranda Hennessy, Nick Owenford, and others. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Chris Clark served as producers.
The teaser, informing viewers that the trailer will be released tomorrow, April 5, gives viewers a sneek peek into English’s adventures.
The film is set for release this fall, on September 20.
Atkinson, who’s been known as Mr. Bean for decades, first portrayed the secret agent in 2003, when Johnny English became the country’s sole spy after an attack on the MI5. The 2011 sequel, Johnny English Reborn, saw him on a mission in China.
