Hip-Hop fans have the chance to grow their album collection with the UMOD’s newest release, Hip Hop The Golden Era, a selection of 72 of “the most seminal hip-hop tracks ever put on record”.
Golden age hip hop is a name given to mainstream hip hop music created in the late 1980s and early 1990s, which is characterized by its diversity, quality, innovation and influence on hip hop after the genre’s emergence.
Public Enemy co-founder Chuck D described the album Hip Hop The Golden Era as follows: “The most important hip-hop records ever made. From the OGs of the late-70s to the masters of the artform; these are the architects that built the foundations of what hip-hop is”.
