Volkswagen Canada showcases the all-new Volkswagen Jetta in a hilarious commercial, featuring a man’s father who’s taking his Jetta for a joyride.
The 60-second spot features the old man sneaking out in the middle of the night and “stealing” his son’s Volkswagen Jetta for a drive. On his way, he stops to pick up some friends and have them by his side during the ride, which proves to be an exhilarating experience. While the driver is speeding down the empty city streets, his fellows are enjoying the comfortable interior and the view, and even have fun at a traffic light, when a young woman at the steering wheel of another VW Jetta is looking towards their car hoping probably to see a hunk and spots a bunch of elders instead. After drifting in a parking lot, the driver leaves his friends at home and he returns at his son, who’s waiting for him in front of the house, a cup of coffee in his hand, quite worried.
The commercial, soundtracked by Eddie Murphy’s 1985 single “Party All the Time”, ends with the voiceover saying “Enjoy the ride. Introducing the All-New Jetta”.
