Verizon highlights, in a new ad, that Verizon is “the most awarded network now best in streaming”, as well, and that, for a limited time, you can get up to 50% off the latest iPhones on them.
The 30-second spot opens with two girl friends in an airport watching a game on a smartphone. A couple sitting near them, watching the same game but encountering streaming issues, asks them what happened since they weren’t able to see on their own smartphone. At this point, Sillicon Valley’s star Thomas Middleditch, who it turns out was waiting for his flight in the same lounging area, near them, tells the young woman to let her new pals know that, “according to a leading independent study, the most awarded network is now best in streaming.” “I think you just did,” she answers, given the fact that the actor/company’s spokesman had said that out loud. Standing up from his seat, the latter approaches the couple and tells them they could get a much better view of the game on the iPhone on Verizon Unlimited and hands them two iPhones to try it. Asked when his flight is, Middleditch realizes his watch had been stolen and starts rushing around.
The commercial ends with the voiceover urging you to “switch to the best Unlimited on the most awarded network, Verizon” and, “for a limited time, get up to 50% off the latest iPhones on us.” Onscreen lines also inform that eligible trade-in (must be in good working & cosmetic condition) is required with Unlimited, as well as up to $999,99 device payment purchase.
