Tag (2018 Movie) - Actor Jeremy Renner

The trailer for the upcoming comedy Tag has been released. Based on Russell Adams’ 2013 story in the Wall Street Journal, titled “Tag, He’s ‘It’ for Another Year,” the film follows a small group of former classmates who organize an elaborate, annual game of tag that requires some to travel all over the country.

The cast includes Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, Isla Fisher, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones, and Leslie Bibb.

The trailer starts with Ed Helms’ character trying to tag Jeremy Renner’s character at his own wedding, just as a pastor has proclaimed “You may kiss the bride”. Renner and his wife manage to avoid the contact with Helms, who ends up throwing the pastor at the floor. Fisher plays Helms’ wife, the organizer of the over-the-top game of tag. “This is just what we love,” she explains in one of the scenes revealed in the trailer, adding that, while other couples do all kinds of different things, they have this game. The five competitive friends, who have been playing this game since the first grade, risk their jobs and relationship every May in an attempt to take each other down with the battle cry “You’re It!”.

The songs used in the trailer are Joe Cocker’s “With a little help from my friends” and MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This”.

Tag, directed by Jeff Tomsic from a script by Mark Steilen and Rob McKittrick, is scheduled to be released in theaters this summer, on June 15.
