Simply Be TV Advert Song – Rules.Rewritten!

Simply Be Advert Model

Simply Be continues its #RulesRewritten campaign, aimed at raising body confidence in plus size women, with a new inspirational spot highlighting that curvy girls can wear sexy lingerie if they want, too.

The spot opens with a plus size model donning a lace strappy body, with an all-over lace to the body and a v-shape strapping detail to the front and back (Simply Be By Night From Pretty Secrets Strappy Black Body – £18) and holding a poster featuring the text “Curvy girls can wear sexy lingerie”. The Figleaves Curve French Lace Navy High Apex Full Cup Bra (£25), with all-over lace in a longline design, underwired cups and adjustable straps for support, the Figleaves Curve Navy French Knickers (£16), with all-over lace and an elasticated waistband, are also showcased, while additional messages encourage women to “forget the fear”, “take risks on fashion not fit” and remind them that “curves don’t mean compromise”.

The song used in the ad is “City Cruising” by Mattijs Muller. The Sexy Lingerie collection also includes a variety of bras, bralettes, briefs, shorts, babydolls, chemise sets, two-piece bustier sets, stockings, and dress ups.

Based on the fact that 89% of women don’t feel represented on catwalks, the #RulesRewritten movement was launched at this year’s London Fashion Week, where a group of women, including Hayley Hasselhoff, the daughter of Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, and plus-size models, striped off and donned denim jackets featuring various slogans, in an attempt to rewrite the rules of fashion. The protest was hold outside London Fashion Week venues and gained media attention, the girls becoming subject of multiple news.
