Volkswagen showcases the all-new, high-tech Volkswagen Touareg in a commercial focused on the SUV’s “sleek, stunning exterior” and “forward-thinking technology”.
The ad stars two architects, a man and a woman, driving the third-generation of VW’s flagship SUV as they travel for job purposes and meet, at some point, along the way, at a crossroad, greeting each other with a meaningful look and a smile. The brand’s latest Innovision digital cockpit system, which comprises VW’s 12-inch digital screen along with a 15-inch Discover Premium infotainment display, as well as a variety of other key features, including Front Assist with city emergency braking system, IQ. Light – LED Matrix Beam Headlights, Night Vision, are shown throughout the spot, which is soundtracked by a catchy song and ends with a twist: it turns out the two architects are husband and wife. The tagline “We make the future real” also flashes across the screen.
According to the German brand, the all-new 2019 Toureg, which was unveiled earlier this month, on March 23, in Beijing, is “the most technologically advanced model” it has ever produced. “Now more practical than before”, with boot capacity increased by 113 litres to 810 litres with the rear seats in place, and “more efficient” thanks to a range of new V6 and V8 engines, the flagship SUV will be available, starting this fall, with two other options: a lesser-powered 228bhp 3.0-litre turbodiesel and a 336bhp 3.0-litre turbo petrol. Towards the end of 2018, Volkswagen will introduce a plug-in hybrid Touareg model, but no date has yet been set for its launch.
