Volvo showcases the new Volvo XC40 with Care by Volvo in a commercial aimed at highlighting that “By not owning things you are not owned by things”.
The spot, which introduces the automaker’s new SUV as “the car you subscribe to”, features a young woman driving a XC40 through a city where everyone strives to own as many things as possible. Delivery trucks on the roads, a delivery man all stressed out on his way to drop off packages, a drone delivering a package, a man handling a piano that needs to be delivered to someone living in a skyscraper, screens, shoes, handbags, and clothes, including people dashing into a clothing store where an “One Day Only” event takes place and fighting over items – are all shown in order to illustrate the idea of things owning people. The woman driving the Volvo’s new SUV, who’s apparently the only one relaxed in that city, goes somewhere to enjoy a beautiful view and feel the wind blowing through her hair.
The soundtrack music is “My Favorite Things” by Swedish singer Jennie Abrahamson, from her album “My Favorite Things”, released today, January 2018, on How Sweet The Sound.
Described as “an authentic SUV for the city”, the new Volvo XC40 boasts a youthful design that combines with SUV style, power operated Tailgate, 12.3″ Digital Driver Display, smartphone integration, as well as a suite of safety features.
The available trims are Momentum (starting at $35,200), R-Design (starting at $37,700), Momentum with Care by Volvo (available to subscribe to from $600/month) and R-Design with Care by Volvo (available to subscribe to from $700/month).
