Huawei showcases the new Mate 10 Pro in a commercial that focuses on some of the smartphone’s features, including a “long-lasting battery”, a “revolutionary” camera, and “lightning-fast speed”.
The spot, dubbed “Get Wow Now” and aimed at highlighting that the brand’s new flagship smartphone is “out of this world”, opens with a Mate 10 Pro falling on Earth like a meteor, slamming into the ground and making a big hole. A little girl who’s in the company of her grandmother and her dog picks it up and takes pictures of the two, giving viewers an overview on the camera capabilities. The great battery life is illustrated through a “cross country crowd surfer”, who posts on his YouTube channel a live video of his 10th day of Crowdsurf Marathon. Asked by a journalist when he will stop, he says he will when his phones dies, mentioning he still has like 52%. The next scene shows a stand-up comedian making a joke about how slow his phone is and getting a “precious” piece of advice from one of the few persons in the audience, namely to get a Huawei because “it streams 4k video with the 4000mAh battery, which means you could watch movies on the flight from New York to London and still have enough “juice” when you land”. Finally, a young woman on a plane watching a movie on her Huawei politely refuses a passenger who wants to give her some “juice”, saying she’s good.
“What do you get when you put the ultimate battery, a revolutionary camera, and lightning-fast speed together in one phone? You get Wow Now”. – the voiceover says at the end of the spot, which is soundtracked by Jacco Gardner’s 2015 single Find Yourself off his second album, “Hypnophobia”.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro will be launched in the US as an unlocked, SIM-free phone, on February 19th.
