Cat’s Pride has teamed up with Katherine Heigl to start the Litter for Good program, aimed at helping saving the lives of shelter cats.
In one of the spots promoting this initiative, the acclaimed actress explains briefly how the Litter for Good program will help millions of shelter cats.
“There are 13,600 independent shelters in the U.S.. Every year, 3.2 million cats enter these shelters. Tragically, over half of those cats never make it out of the shelters and have to be euthanized.” – Katherine says, informing then viewers that, for every green jug of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light they buy, one pound of cat litter will be donated to shelters across America, and so the dollars these shelters save on litter go directly towards saving cats’ lives.
The 30-second commercial ends with the voiceover saying the campaign tagline, “Changing Litter for Good”.
The brand also informs that people can even nominate their favorite local shelter to receive free litter by going to the “Litter for Good” section of Cat’s Pride website.
Katherine Heigl, who is not only an Emmy Award-winning actress, but also an animal rights activist, became a spokeswoman for Cat’s Pride cat litter in March 2016. She starred in several commercials, promoting the brand’s Fresh and Light Ultimate Care, described as “a revolutionary litter” thanks to its 10-day odor control and other features, highlighting that a portion of every purchase would go the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, set up by the Heigl family to help eliminate animal cruelty.
