Versace has launched a teaser for its Spring Summer 2018 Advertising Campaign, that will mark the beginning of the 40th anniversary of the fashion house.
The campaign, created by Artistic Director Donatella Versace and shot by Stephen Meisel, who is a legendary collaborator of the Italian luxury label, stars some of the most iconic forces in fashion, such as Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bündchen, along with today’s hottest talent, including Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber, the 16-year-old daughter of Cindy Crawford, in individual portraits capturing their unique personalities. The campaign film also stars Christy Turlington, Irina Shayk, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmerman, Cara Taylor, Vittoria Ceretti, Grace Elizabeth, and Birgit Kos.
The 15-second teaser, soundtracked by The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1, by J.S. Bach, performed by pianist Kimiko Ishizaka , features the above mentioned supermodels saying to the camera “Versace”.
Donatella Versace said of this campaign that it represents “the link between past and present.”, adding that “You need to know who you are, and where you are coming from, to build your future.”. “And when you are at the head of a brand with such a strong heritage as mine, you can only embrace it.” – she also said, explaining that this is the reason why she wanted to see “this iconic super model cast next to the soon-to-be-iconic girls of the future”.
