The Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch stars in a new Xbox ad campaign, titled “Me and Marshawn”, promoting the enhanced Madden NFL 18 for Xbox One X. He is not alone, though, in the spotlight. His hand is, as well.
The campaign includes several spots featuring Marshawn and his right hand, “Baby Beast”, having various conversations.
In one of the 30-second spots, dubbed “We”, the hand, wearing a wig that looks like Marshawn’s hair, takes credit for the player’s accomplishments and glory, but the latter reminds the hand they did it together, mentioning that “this is a team game”.
“Since when? I saw a lot of me carrying a lot of you.” – the hand says. “Bro, you’re my hand, bro.” – Marshawn answers, which makes the hand get nervous and start reminding him some of the things he’s doing, such as wearing the ring.
When Marshawn tries to highlight that he was the one putting the ring there by asking “Who put it there?”, the hand
has the perfect line to shut him up: “The other hand?”. Finally, Baby Beast is the one saying the tagline “Madden NFL 18. Plays best on Xbox One X.”
The song used in the ad is “On My Own” by Old Man Saxon x Mount Cyanide.
According to Xbox, Madden NFL 18 on Xbox One X delivers “the most detailed, highest resolution Madden NFL game available on any console.” Among the enhancement Madden NFL 18 boasts there are increased camera detail and a constant 60 fps, which help create “an absolutely stunning 4K Ultra HD football experience”.
The campaign is set to debut during the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals NFL game during “Monday Night Football”, which airs on ESPN at 5:30 p.m PT.
