2 Dope Queens (HBO 2018 Series) – Trailer Song

2 Dope Queens (HBO 2018 Series)

HBO has dropped a teaser trailer for the hit comedy podcast 2 Dope Queens, which will come to HBO in February 2018 for a series of four specials.

The 60-second promo presents the two dope queens, Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, as “the dopest queens to ever queen in the history of queening”. Sitting in royal armchairs and holding drinks in their hands, the duo are talking to the camera about their show. “What an amazing idea to have your own special on HBO.” – Phoebe says. “This is what our ancestors fought for.” – Jessica adds, mentioning then Harriet Tubman and Sojourner (Truth), both African-American born into slavery, who rose to prominent roles of leadership.

Jessica then makes a toast to herself and Phoebe, describing themselves as “the dopest of queens”, and tells Philip, a guy who tries to put a crown on her head, that he’s not allowed to touch her hair. “Right here, on HBO, straight after Game of Thrones.” – Phoebe says, but Jessica denies it, saying they’re not after Game of Thrones, mentioning that they definitely didn’t get the slot behind Game of Thrones.

The song used in the trailer is “Good As Hell” by Minneapolis rapper-singer Lizzo, from the 2016 album “Barbershop: The Next Cut (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”.

2 Dope Queens will premiere on February 2 at 11:30PM.
